Rehearsals for The Royal Ballet's Les Enfants Terribles were recently livestreamed for free via the Royal Opera House YouTube channel.

Later this month, choreographer Javier De Frutos presents a new production of Philip Glass’s dance-opera inspired by Jean Cocteau’s surrealist novel. The piece will be staged at the the Barbican in celebration of the composer’s 80th birthday.

Presented by BBC Radio 3’s Sara Mohr-Pietsch, the Insights event offered viewers a rare insight into the fusion of these two art forms, with several rehearsal and discussion segments featuring the Venezuelan choreographer and artists of The Royal Ballet, including Edward Watson and Zenaida Yanowsky.

Audiences were also given an in-depth introduction to the music with conductor Timothy Burke and Jette Parker Young Artists Jennifer Davis, Gyula Nagy and Emily Edmonds who performed parts of Glass's impressive score.
